Ethos

The aims and ethos of the Youth Cadet Force is centred around the individual development of each member of our organisation. Through a form of high standard discipline and intense learning and development our aim is to support the young people locally and nationally to apply themselves as model citizens within our community. Our ethos is underpinned by these following 4 strands for success:

‘CARE’

Courage- “Nothing holds us back”
Aspiration- “Always aiming high, be the best we can be”
Respect-“Always leading by example”
Enjoy- “Have the best fun we can”

We aim to foster a learning environment with a strong connection to the British Military that will allow each child to learn and develop in their own way to become strong mentally and physically, more independent in the openness and more aware of their own abilities and skills as well as of those around them.

Our learning & development programmes are robust, challenging and rewarding to allow each child to make their own progress. Often regarded as the hidden curriculum the YCF will always aim to support the school’s national curriculum in the United Kingdom to ensure that we support, build and develop with a full holistic view for our young people.

The learning & Development plans will be split into differentiated levels for a long and contrasting learning experience so that no child feels board and not challenged but equally so no child feels it is too hard and unachievable to them.
